Welcome to Allerton Bywater Victoria Angling Club

Allerton Bywater Victoria Angling club has been running for over 30 years and has 100s of yearly members from match anglers through to specimen anglers. The club has plenty of waters for you to fish. The most popular being the Lowther complex with there being a challenging but rewarding 25 acre lake and a small Oxbow, both have got quality fish all of species. Other waters include Woodlesford canal, and the canals on the joint Aire and Calder Canals which are brilliant for the traditional match and pleasure angler, as they are both stuffed with silvers and contains bonus pike and carp.

  • The waterways wanders permit is for non rented stretchers of canal and river. To fish the club stretch's you must have a valid book and EA license
  • The Lowther Lake Complex Night Permit waiting list is now closed at 50, it will reopen again in January 2021
  • All club waters are now back open to fishing. Night fishing is allowed on lowther lake through night permits only. Please follow the Government guidelines which are posted here
  • Anybody who is a book holder can be guested on Lowther Lake for a session by an existing night permit holder for £20. Arrangements to be made prior to fishing through contacting Ian Wright(contact info in membership book).

Membership

Allerton Bywater Victoria Membership is on a yearly basis and runs from 1st January to 31st December. The membership allows you to fish and water owned by the club from dawn till dusk. Membership books are available from Castleford Angling Supplies, Rods and Reels, Angling Direct Leeds, Outwood Angling Centre, AJ Fishing Tackle, Bobco Tackle and J.T.Rogers Tackle.

Night fishing permits are available to fish the Lowther Complex only and limited to 90 permits, again these run yearly in conjunction with the membership book. Night permits are only available from Ian Wright. In order to attain a permit you must register on the waiting list by contacting Ian Wright (Contact info in the membership book).At the time the people who already have a night permit have first choice whether to renew membership. If they chose to drop out then the highest ranked person on the waiting list is contacted about the permit.
